About FPT Corporation
FPT Corp is a short form of The Financing and Promoting Technology Corporation, which was founded on September 13th 1988. It is considered the most advanced Corporation in the area of Information Technology and Communication of Vietnam. FPT Corporation consists of 83 subsidiaries and affiliated units operating in all fields of IT and Communication with nearly 10,000 staff and experts nationwide. With its more and more growth, FPT has also opened 6 more companies which are on-site located at the corporation's major markets: Japan, America, France, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. In 2008, despite the severe financial crisis, the whole corporation's sales yet dramatically increased over the extent of  1billion, thereupon became the first private enterprise ever in Vietnam reached this threshold. In the next three years, the number of employees of FPT forecasted to increase estmantimatedly 10,000 people more and the sales will surpass 2 billion . At the moment, FPT is partner of more than 200 biggest Corporation in the field of IT worldwide.
In the trip to America accompanying Mr. President Nguyen Minh Triet in 2007, CEO Truong Gia Binh and the delegation of FPT has brought about a turning point in partnership with Microsoft Corp. The agreement gave permission for programmers in FPT to participate in developing the core of Microsoft software. More than that, Microsoft Corp also agreed to provide help on building FPT University to become "The University of the 21st century."
With reference to education, ever since the year of 1999, FPT has realized the need of high quality human resources in the development process of the Corporation and Vietnam's IT industry. Accordingly, FPT Corporation, with the cooperation of Aptech India - one of the most effective education systems in the world, kicked off a long term project. The aim was to establishing chains of Aptech Institute for educating programmers as well as Arena Institute for educating Multimedia designers in Vietnam. Up to now, within its 10 years of operation, Aptech Vietnam has had nearly 40 centers nationwide and has been training over 20.000 professional software engineers and multimedia art designers, contributing to the development of Vietnam IT industry.

About FPT University

September 8^th 2006, the Government Decision No. 208/2006/QD-TTg officially granted permission to establish FPT University.

The mission of FPT University is to become a new age university in the field of informatics technology and other fields on the basis of IT foundation, has modern education philosophy on the basic of composing international standard training program, integrating the training with the practical needs, the research with the implementation of research achievements of modern technology… to aim to train high quality human resources for the organizations / enterprises in Vietnam and all over the world.

At the moment, the immediate objective of FPT University is to train and provide high quality human resources specialized in IT and other groups of industry that relate to FPT Corporation as well as IT Corporation worldwide and IT enterprises in Vietnam.

The vital point that differs FU from the other universities is the training program with such an industrial manner. In here, programmers are trained with a specialized program closely linked with the IT Enterprises' need, in the association between training, practice and research-deployment. In order to achieve all those complex requirements, the most advanced technologies in the world are used. In addition, with the modern educational philosophy and methodology, students are comprehensively trained in harmony. Programs used for education are updated and comply with international standard and technologies, with the focus on the skills of using languages. Furthermore, with the training enhancement in the organizational process of production as well as teamwork skills and personal skills, students are ensured with the best qualifications to have good jobs in FPT Corporation and other leading enterprises.

Advisory Council

Advisory Council of the University of FPT includes the top leading professors and scientists of Vietnam. Mr. Takeo Ogawa, honorary chairman and former CEO of Hitachi Software is the senior advisor for IT training programs in Japanese.

The responsibilities of Advisory Council are to participate in orientation and strategies developing for the operation of the University as well as support the managing board in scientific research and international cooperation.

Board of directors

The board of directors is the highest management organ, which is responsible before the law for the activities of the University. Board of Directors is also responsible for strategic decisions, orientation activities, and nomination for the position of Principal as well as other important positions of the University.

CEO of FPT University is Professor, Dr. Truong Gia Binh. He is also CEO and Chairman of FPT Corp. Mr.Binh graduated as a Doctor in the field of Math-Physics at Lomonosov Moscow State University. With his undeniable talents, Mr. Truong Gia Binh founded and has been executed FPT Corp since 1988. He is also Dean of Faculty of Business Administration HSB, National University of Hanoi; Chairman of Hanoi Young Business Association (HYBA); Chairman of Vietnam Software Association (VINASA).

Managing board of the University has the responsibility of operating the activities of the University. Principal of FU, term 2006-2011, is Dr. Le Truong Tung. He graduated at Lomonosov Moscow State University, protected his Ph.D. thesis at Military Technical Institute. He is CEO of FPT International Institute, Chairman of HoChiMinh Computer Association (HCA), Vice Chairman of Vietnam Association for Information Processing (VAIP) and Delegate Council of HoChiMinh City.

FPT University has already completed facilities at Pham Hung Street, My Dinh, Hanoi, as well as training institution in the QuangTrung Software Park, Ho Chi Minh City to train thousands of students. The University has planned to build a modern university campus with full facilities on an area of over 30 hectares in HoaLac Hi-Tech Park. FU expects to have education institutes in major cities throughout the country within 3-5 years.

Students have the chance to use and work with the most advanced equipments and training software. They also have the opportunities to learn language in a national environment. The classes are equipped with air conditioning and wireless 24/7. The library is modernly organized with the most progressive information updating.
