The need for the establishment of FPT University

Vietnam at the moment has 750 enterprises with more than 35,000 software programmers. According to HCM City Informatics Association, all the training facilities throughout the country can only afford for 10,000 students with growth rate of about 10%.

We can see obviously the serious gap between supply and demand of human resources. All the above estimations were only concerned with the quantity, not to mention the fact that the quality of education is also a vital point that leads to serious problems in human resources of Vietnam in the process of integration with national environment. A lot of Vietnam's IT companies cannot grow due to the insufficient human resources.

The demand of human resource in FPT Corporation is also expanding in such high speed. More than that, in this era of economic integration and with the intention of reaching out for foreign markets, human needs must meet not only quantity but also quality with international standards. According to the development plan of FPT, in 2015, the Corporation will need to have 35.000 staff working in FPT Software, and 4.000 more in the field of Information System

In this special context, FPT University was founded with the immediate goal is to be the supplier of HR with high quality specialized in the field of IT. This abundant HR can serve for other industry that related to FPT as well as many Enterprises in Vietnam.

Legal basis for the establishment of FPT University

Decision No. 208/2006/QD-TTg on September 8, 2006 for the establishment of FPT University.
Decision No. 5213/QD-BGDDT officially recognized on September 20, 2006 that Pro. Dr. Truong Gia Binh held the chairman of the Management Course I of FPT University.
Decision No. 5214/QD-BGDDT officially recognized on September 20, 2006 Dr. Le Truong Tung was the Rector of the University of FPT.

Qualifications and industry training

In the present, FPT University trains engineers focused in the field of information technology, specialized in software engineering. In the future, the university will continue to open the course for Information Technology and Communications, High-tech industry, Financial and training Postgraduate levels.

April 2009, school enrollment courses V started, trained in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Students will continue to be guaranteed job with high income in FPT and international partners after graduation.
