Mr.Takeo Ogawa‘s talk show with new students from batch 5

On the afternoon of October 14, 2009, Mr. Takeo Ogawa - Former Chairman of Hitachi Software, High Senior Advisor of FPT University had a confidential talk with new students of FU who were still in their Aggregating Training time in Xuan Hoa.  With the aim of equipping for students with the necessary knowledge required on the path of becoming an IT engineer, Mr.Ogawa‘s oration helped new students of batch 5 to define a clear vision of their career in future.

The participation of FU’s director board with Mr. Le Truong Tung - FPT University Rector, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong - FPT University vice Principal and Ms. Nguyen Kim Anh - Vice Principal of FPT University also dispelled all the homesickness of FU students who were on their first long journey, far from home.
In the first part of the meeting, PhD.Le Truong Tung introduced Mr.Ogawa to his students: "Mr. Ogawa is an intimate friend of FPT Corporation, who has been by our side since the very first day of FU’s foundation.  In the opening ceremony fathered FPT University dated January 13, 2007, he entrusted his confidential expectation in FU Students:"I hope your generation will equip yourself with perspicacity of us Japanese, talent of the Western together with internal soul inside your own long-standing culture; they will accompany not only you but also your whole nation to a bright future”.  This is a precious opportunity for you students to have a look at the face of software industry today as well as learn from his life’s inestimable lessons.
With the experience of  more than 40 years devoting for the industry of software development, Mr. Ogawa transmitted the importance of outsourcing to all the students in the big hall. He implied: “Software outsourcing is the most appropriate way of bringing wealth together with advancement to your country as It once  brought success and fame for me and my nation”.

Base on that, he refers to the training programs attentively specialized for FPT University.  On the top of that, Mr.Ogawa put memorable emphasis on the importance of teaching Japanese and English as they will be a favorable factor that unlocks the door to students’ successful career in the future.
With reference to ambition of being success in young people, Mr.Ogawa confided: "In order to achieve success or promotion you need to be adaptable to changes of the age that you’re living in and changes in the company that you are working for.  Learn from the experience of your companies’ successes as well as failures will help you gain more and more invaluable lesson which eventually will become your most powerful weapon in the industry of software development”.
 Talking about himself,  Mr.Owaga confided: "My life is like a string of succeeding failures, but even in the most disheartened moment of my life, I still see the path to success. Once, my teacher advised me not to work as a software engineer for my entire life, but I did not listen to him, I kept sticking with it and struggling in my own selected path .Eventually, I succeeded.  You students are still at your very first stage of life, filled with all your ambitions and dreams, you should carefully consider before deciding the path that you will pursue in the rest of your life.  And once it’s chosen, don’t ever give it up even if sometime in your way put the circumstances, the obstacles that make you despairing or frustrated”.
 In the past, Mr. Ogawa himself astonished many people by his incredible promotion; from the position of an average employee with a normal background, step by step he rised to the top, competed against more than 5000 other employees, and at last became the CEO of Hitachi Software and Chairman of the company’s directors board later.  His achievement must rely on his passion in work, decisiveness with the chosen way as well as the ceaseless desire of being better.
 Mr.Ogawa affirmed: “Learning is a long term process that built upon the endeavor of yours.  As long as you have a clear aim, stick with it and try your best; together with the support of the people beside you; I believe the success will be yours in a not far future”.  Mr.Ogawa expressed his aspiration of a new generation that will have the knowledge in conjunction with a wholesome mind contained in a healthy body, especially the courage to fall in one line with other students from all over the world.
 "Your time in university lasts only for four years, including one year spared for the on-job-training program. Totally, you will only have three years for all of your studying.  Therefore, every time you find yourself in trouble, don’t struggle on it alone. You have all your teachers, friends beside you that are willing to help. Share the vexation of life with them and together learn from it. Additionally, with reference to the most precious property of yours, you should spend time to figure out your goals and destination to use your health in the best way”, said Mr.Ogawa.
 Mr.Ogawa highly appreciated the friendly evironment of learning at FPT University and also gave the students advice of making use of it to develop a stable foundation for their future career.  He affirmed that Vietnam now is having an obvious opportunity to enter  the top countries with high developed IT industry.  It depends all on your generation, especially the young people who are working, studying in FPT.

The meeting became even livelier and more interesting in Q&A part when many students gave Mr. Ogawa questions, such as: Why do you choose Vietnam as your destination of cooperation?  How can I way to learn Japanese better?  The correlation between the operating system for hand held devices and computers?  Is there any chance for Vietnamese to invent a new product that known all over the world like Windows of Microsoft? ...  There are even some students that expressed their love toward Mr.Ogawa without hesitation: "Sir, I find in you all the things that I dreamt of: enthusiasm, wisdom and success.  So, would you mind  giving me  a hug to help me feel more confident in myself?
Former Chairman of Hitachi Software reciprocated the esteem of all the students as well as have all questions answered satisfactorily.  After the meeting, Mr. Ogawa and the managing board of FPT University visited the barracks of the students in Xuan Hoa. Previously, on December the 10th , he also had  meeting with students of FU Ho Chi Minh in the camp located in Military Zone 7.
After this event, the managing boards are going to plan more talk shows with the presence of Mr.Ogawa in order to help students to have opportunities of understanding more about the expertise, culture as well as the people of Japan.
