In the morning of January 7th, FPT University’s batch-5 student Pham Ngoc Thang attended the 2012 Business Starting Festival and honorably received the Second Prize of the 2011 Business Starting Contest which was 10 million VND worth, along with the cup and certificate from the organizer. “Computer power management and optimizer - iSave” by Ngoc Thang is one of the projects which obtained great appreciation of the judges in this year’s contest.
In the morning of December 30th, with a project titled "Software power management and PC optimizing - iSave", batch-5 student of FPT University, Pham Ngoc Thang successfully went through the presentation and the review at the final round of the 2011 Business Start-up Contest at VCCI building in Hanoi.

On the evening of July 7th, at FPT University, economist Pham Chi Lan had a meeting with over a hundred students. Here, she shared her experiences concerning the macroeconomic issues of Vietnam, and the opportunity for students to attain wealth in a time of volatile economy.
Recently in the morning of July 2nd, Professor Ilene Whitney Crawford Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven CT had an extremely interesting meeting with FPT students in the workshop about “Interview and Business of English”. The program had attracted the participation of more than 150 students in Innovation Building.
On June 15th, at Detech building, under the instruction and detailed guidance of Japanese traditional costume specialists from the Tokyo International Exchange School, FPT University students had an opportunity to discover and experience the culture of Japan – “Country of Cherry Blossoms”.
On May 21st, FPT University students had an opportunity to participate in a meeting about “Japanese Culture – Country – People” with Dr. Nguyen Tri Dung – Special Goodwill Ambassador of Vietnam at Hyugo province (Japan) and Chairman of the Scientific Council of Saigon Hi-tech Park (Ho Chi Minh City). With over 40 years experience of living in Japan, Dr. Dung had given FPT students interesting and helpful talks.
Recently, in Hall 204- Detech building, FPT students participated in a Job Seminar held by FPT University SRO department, in cooperation with the Gameloft company. This company is offering 500 career opportunities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar then, is indeed the place where FPT students, especially last years undergraduates, to seek a chance of job selection.
On the afternoon of October 14, 2009, Mr. Takeo Ogawa - Former Chairman of Hitachi Software, High Senior Advisor of FPT University had a confidential talk with new students of FU who were still in their Aggregating Training time in Xuan Hoa. With the aim of equipping for students with the necessary knowledge required on the path of becoming an IT engineer, Mr.Ogawa‘s oration helped new students of batch 5 to define a clear vision of their career in future.
Eventually, the official final result of ACM / ICPC Vietnam Contest 2009 was held at Nha Trang University has been announced. This year, with three teams entered the top 10 of best performed teams, FPT University bulldozed all the prejudices of a newborn university, gathered all the attention from other 40 teams, and galvanized every single person who were there at the contest.
