In this 2^nd time of participation, the delegation of FPT University brought to the competition 5 teams. Apart from 3 teams that have already had experiences on the previous attendance (FuToad, Blue Flame and Jose Mourinho), the rest two other teams are utterly new:  Zero FU and FUHCM. Furthermore, their members are totally freshmen from batch 4. All the teams are selected from the ACM trial Competition on the scale of university regularly held each month.

When the contest is in its fully strained progress, FPT University was the name that kept being shown in the Top 10. Within 5 hours of the competition, each of the participated teams was required to give out the solutions to 8 problems stated by ACM Committee. While all deputations were trying their best to accomplish the given tasks, the temporary ranking was publicized widely in the big hall up to the last hour of the competition’s duration. The dramatic appeal of the contest was intensified by the tension of the contest, the aspiration of victory and especially the incessant changing of the ranks. After the competition, QuangVT poured out his in concealable excitement: "Perhaps only we participators can fully comprehend all the things that we’ve been through: the keyed up feelings every time we submit a solution, the indescribable joyfulness when our solution is accepted, or the overflowing disappointment when the returned result is not as expected . In order to overcome those obstacles and achieve the highest accomplishment, the entire team must make user of all their knowledge in the field of algorithms, the adept programming skills, together with maintenance of a friendly, entrusting working environment”.

At the end of the Contest, as we all know, FPT University was not only one of 10 teams which have the best performance, but it was also gained the highest position with three per five teams in the top of ranking list, they are FuToad, Blue Flame, and Jose Mourinho. The other delegations also attained their undeniable achievements: HCM University of Technology with 2 winning teams and 5 other universities are also in the list: College of Technology of Hanoi National University, Foreign Trade University, HCM University of Sciences, Hanoi University of Technology and Danang University of Technology. 

Mr. Huynh Anh Dung – the manager of FU delegation said: "During the competition, they constantly put the Committee and other teams in a high-keyed state of emotion due to their incredible performance: four fifths of FU deputation perpetually controls the upper positions of ranking list. This is the first time ever that a delegation from a newly established University draws the attention of the other ones which has lot of experience before, and furthermore makes them “guard against” us. After ceaselessness of efforts, we FU finally had feather in our cap. More than that, we did make an unforgettable impression to both the Contest Committee and the delegations from other universities”.

This is the second time of FPT University to attend ACM / ICPC Contest. Earlier, in 2008, in their first time of participation, students of FU made their name remembered by entering Asia Pacific‘s top 12 best delegations.

Vietnam ACM ICPC (Association for Computing Machinery International Collegiate Programming Contest) is qualifying round of the ACM ICPC – The biggest international programming contest for students of universities and colleges all over the world. This is the most prestigious competition that annually carried and sponsored by IBM. This is an opportunity for students of universities and colleges to denote their talents as well as practice their skills in problem solving and programming.
