After  missing a previous appointment with FPT University due to health, economy expert, government senior advisor Pham Chi Lan  came back with a very hot topic which gained the attention of the public: Vietnam – China and the economic - political relationship between the two countries. During the two  hours  meeting, she discussed  the situation  in Vietnam today, and about opportunities as well as challenges of our country situated beside  China – a powerful neighbour.

Economist Pham Chi Lan  presents a deep analysis of the Vietnamese economy today.

According to her, the macroeconomic issue is a big problem, and not everyone can understand all of its principles, however,  all Vietnamese people need to know the current economic situation of the country. She shared: “The brief picture of the macro economy today is summarized in a word: crisis. This viewpoint is most obvious from 2007 until now. The year of 2011 is the fourth year of serious instability in macro economy, and in my opinion, we are at the bottom of uncertainty at this moment. With the effort of the Government and all citizens, I hope we will get out of this situation. But, we must get out in a solid way to provide the base for  a sustainable development of the country in the  years. To come”

 In addition to this contribution of economist Pham Chi Lan, FPT University students also asked  many  questions directly as well as expressed their  admiration of her. Answering the question about being wealthy in the time of a volatile economy, she gave sincere advice from her heart: “We all know crisis always is a big challenge, but difficulties make opportunities, the important thing is to know where we are to find the place beyond. The  opportunities are always there."

The meeting also helped FPT students with an opportunity  to understand how to approach life, the market, and improving vision in the new era. Many students nowadays have a low  career awareness and orientation which is un suitable for the country today, that’s why  all  of the young people need to choose for themselvesf an appropriate orientation for  their ability, to take advantage of  the  best way to claim success in the future.

Student Hoang ThiThanh Dung expressed: “The meeting had a great meaning  for me. I  had  the ambition  to do business right  from my first step into University. But after Mrs. Pham Chi Lan’s analyses, I  now see that my knowledge is not enough for such a difficult competitive environment. I need more practical experience to know how to grasp the right moment to turn it into great opportunity.” 

The meeting ended with warm feelings between FPT students and economist Pham Chi Lan.
