

In the morning of January 7th, FPT University’s batch-5 student Pham Ngoc Thang attended the 2012 Business Starting Festival and honorably received the Second Prize of the 2011 Business Starting Contest which was 10 million VND worth, along with the cup and certificate from the organizer. “Computer power management and optimizer - iSave” by Ngoc Thang is one of the projects which obtained great appreciation of the judges in this year’s contest.

The Business Starting Contest was launched from January 2011, and attracted the participation of more than 100 projects from students andyoungsters. Through the preliminary round, Pham Ngoc Thang’s iSave project excellently stood out among the six projects which obtained the highest points in the Final round held on 30/12/2011.
“Computer power management and optimizer - iSave” is the project which can optimize and save the computer’s power up 27%, thus, help saving the electricity cost for users.

Pham Ngoc Thang said, next, his group would focus on business customers of the project.
With the goal “If there is computer, there is iSave”, Pham Ngoc Thang had made a persuasive presentation on December 30th, 2011. Finally, his project excellently claimed the contest’s second prize.
Sharing his feeling, Thang said, although he could not win First Prize, the project still attracted great attention from friends as well as businesses. Moreover, the purpose of the group when participating the contest – promoting iSave – was achieved; sales increased about 30% after the competition; the number of people who contacted through the hotline also dramatically rose.

Also at the ceremony, the organizers officially launched 2012 Business Starting Contest nationwide, with a commitment to invest 2 billion VND to support the implementation of viable projects.
Pham Ngoc Thang shared, after receiving the prize, the group would focus more on corporate customers, and expected to release Mobile and tablet PC versions around April 2012.
First held in 2003, the Business Starting Contest honors and encourages the movement of establishing own business among youths and students. For 9 years, the competition has attracted 1600 projects from young competitors. In 2011, the contest gained the participation of more than 100 projects, with nearly 200 authors. Among them, 11 most excellent projects reached the Final round.
