Though the ceremony was started at 14:00 when it was very hot outside the Opera House, families and friends came so early. Many gathered at the hall to wait until their children appeared in graduation gowns.

Attendants of the ceremony were not only parents of new graduates but also their friends, relatives, and even close neighbors.

The moment when 113 new bachelors walked into the hall in a greeting applause made their parents so proud and touched. Following them was Dr. Le Truong Tung – Rector of FPT University, then members of the Management Board, and teachers who had been closely alongside with the graduates during their 4 academic years.

  Dr. Le Truong Tung – Rector of FPT University, in a touching moment, shared his feelings with the new graduates who are going to be the university’s alumni.

Dr. Le Truong Tung shared his heartfelt feelings with the students, who from now on will become the university’s alumni. Like a farewell and a wish sent to them before their departure, he said, “The message the university wants to send to you in the graduation ceremony today is, during the 4 years, you have been taught what students in other countries learn. And now, receiving the Bachelor degree, being in the frontline troops to expand the border of knowledge, you can do what other countries can, with the Vietnamese spirit, that is, be dreamer - be doer, confidence, and creativity.

Before your eyes is a wide open horizon with new goals and ambitions to work and contribute more than others in order to create great added value, to enrich yourselves both physically and intellectually, to create wealth to your families, and prosperity to our beloved Vietnam. There are a great many opportunities waiting for you, both nationally and internationally. There are also big challenges for you to make radical changes in the future. We, the Managing Board, hope and also believe that, as FPT University alumni, you have enough strength and confidence to face the changes and challenges, prove yourselves as the future owner of the country, stand firm in the knowledge economy, and have a global orientation. FPT University is looking forward to your next achievements, and will consider your successes as accomplishments of the university”.

  Happiness glowed on the faces of the new graduates.

In order to participate in this graduation ceremony, each student had tried his best to complete his journey of study, including 100 major and minor examinatiions, 2 foreign languages, English and Japanese, a month training as a real soldier in Xuan Hoa, a lot of bruises in Vovinam field, and a period of on-the-job-training, working as a real staff in a software company or a laboratory. That’s why every graduate could not help expressing his joy and happiness when stepping on the stage to receive the laurel and the diploma, and have his tassel turned by Rector Le Truong Tung and Vice Rector Nguyen Khac Thanh. This was indeed the most meaningful moment for each FPT student when his academic and mental efforts to reach maturity were worthily recognized.

With his outstanding academic result of 8.69 and an excellent record of extracurricular activities, Nguyen Hai Ha became the best student of this graduation ceremony. Besides, the students Ta Duc Tung, Tran Hai Dang, Nguyen Huu Quyen, and Ha Thi Tham were honored for their excellent academic result, while Nguyen Huu Quyen, Vu Dieu Huong and Lai Hong Anh were recognized for their contributions in student activities. In his happiness, the best new graduate Nguyen Hai Ha sent his deep gratitude to his teachers of FPT University, his family and friends.

Mr. Ta Duc Toan, father of the student Ta Duc Tung, a new graduate, and also the new owner of the honorable Panasonic 2013 scholarship from Japan, on behalf of the parents, had a speech in the ceremony, sharing the story about the road to success of his son and daughter, and about his decision to choose FPT as the university for his two children. In his sincerely thankfulness to FPT University, he said, “Today is the happiest day to me and all the parents here, to witness the maturity of our children. From the bottom of my heart, I want to send my deepest gratitude to all the teachers of the university.”

At the close of the solemn ceremony, the whole hall was silent in emotions when all 113 students stood up together, fixed their outfit, and then performed the tribute to their families and teachers who had been side by side with them in the long road of conquering knowledge. Many parents and teachers could not hide their tears when seeing their children hold the diplomas in front, take a bow to show their deepest gratitude.

The happiness of a three generation family in the graduation ceremony

In the end, all graduates together stood before Hanoi Opera House and performed the graduation cap throwing ceremony in excitement before the witness of their teachers, families and friends. From that moment, 113 students had officially become new Bachelors of FPT University, and begun to walk in their own chosen paths. With the characteristics and knowledge they have acquired, they surely will have enough confidence and bravery to overcome difficulties and obstacles, and continue to keep the flame of youth enthusiasm, the dream of innovation which has been burning in the whole 4 years with FPT University.
