Within the framework of the international exchanging activities of FPT University,on the afternoon dated 26th February, students and teachers from Bunkyo University, Japan arrived in Hanoi to begin the exciting trip of exploring FU. The visit lasted four days. Through these activities, both sides want to improve the cooperation as well asunderstanding between the two universities in particular and two countries in general.
The very first impression of many Bunkyo students when come to Vietnam was the weather: "It’s hot, extremely hot!”Frankly, it was an extraordinary January afternoon with the brightly shining sun, it made even the Vietnamese habitants felt the heat of a summer day. However, after entering DETECH building, the campus of FPT University, the visitors forgot the feeling of the heat of the weather right away, instead of that, and they seemed to be eager with the interesting scenes witnessed inside FPT University. "It's so wonderful! What a pleasant surprise!" - Students murmured in admiration.
In room 203, students from Bunkyo University were introduced about FPTUniversity, asked questions and had chances to introducethemselves. The most extremely surprised moment was that when teacher Hiyoshi Akihito -from Bunkyo University - stood up to talk about him in Vietnamese. Mr.Hiyoshi had a great interest in Vietnam, has been to Vietnam 22 times, and been learning Vietnamese for nearly a year. Listening to the other teachers, FU students discovered more surprising facts about those intimate friends. Most of the teachers have traveled through many places of Vietnam, from Halong, Nhatrang to HoChiMinh City, enjoyed the food and the people here. More surprisingly, even some of them had already tasted many types of Vietnamese traditional foods like cookie pancake (banh xeo), Rice's paper rolls (nem cuon)...
Toward to the students from Bunkyo University, after some timid moments, they started to make short introductions about themselves with niceness and eagerness. Some bashfully expressed the desire of tasting Vietnamese traditional sweets, some others want to witness the beautiful sceneries of Vietnam, or just simply want to have chance riding on a motorcycle...The atmosphere became more and more friendly when the two groups of students started exchanging gifts and taking photos.
After taking some photographs in the lobby of the 1st floor, the delegation was invited to attend a Japanese lesson of class SE0406. The lecture was ended early in order to make time for students to exchange information with each other in groups. Despite the barrier of languages, culture and geography, they still felt happy about such open-minded time of exchanging ideas. The atmosphere became more exciting when the ones from BunkyoUniversity instructed and helped FU students play some Japanese games: paper folding, string figure, humming top... FPT students also had the opportunity to show those Japanese friends the most famous and beautiful spots or the traditional food of Vietnam and even some basic Vietnamese dialogues in common life.
Next, the special guests from Bunkyo University were invited to have dinner with Phở, a very famous Vietnamese traditional dish. Many students in the Japanese delegation confessed that they have heard a lot about Pho Vietnam. And these words of praise from Japanese visitors proved that Pho Vietnam really impressed them. Eventually, both groups returned to FPT University in order to attend to the performance of candidates in the final round of English Melody Contest, ending the Bunkyo students’ first day with FPT University.
According to the delegation’s agenda, our friends will have an unforgettable travel, a visit to Ha Long Bay on the two days 27thand 28th of February. After that, they will return to FU for farewell ceremony celebrated with FU students on 1stof March.
